Introductions

I've created this blog so I have something to do during my internship. I am stuck here for another semester, and am pretty much going insane. There is only so many times a person can check their e-mail account...

I am a full time graduate student...and also a mom of a wonderful 11 month old, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Needless to say despite being bored out of my guard during my internship I am rather busy otherwise.

I feel as though I should introduce myself in a more "in-depth fashion", so bear with me...I am in the Social Work program, and no my dream is not to take little children out of their homes. In fact, my concentration is on Gerontology (ie old people).

I have been in school for pretty much my entire life, all together (including elementary school) I've been in school for 20 years. That is way too long!! But, I have to say with the job market it's better to be in school now than to be working...which is unfortunate because while in school I've gotten myself into so much debt, I'd rather be a student forever so I don't have to pay for it all. But, this is a topic for another time...which leads me to my first statement about my internship, I'm paying for this experience and that's probably what makes it so sad.

  1. your right about the job market...

...my hubby got made redundent at the end of last year, and applied for nearly 300 jobs before getting a contract job.

He absolutely hates where he is, but at least hes working.

Do you get a proper job at the end of your internship?
